The site was offline for around a week, and came back online yesterday. New servers and new software have been installed by First Beat Media, who own the site. Things appear to be much better, and episodes play immediately, etc.
Those of you who have been frustrated by the service, should find it more pleasant to use.
There have now been just a sniff short of 4 million audio file downloads from Latinum, since I put it online 2 years ago, with a few thousand regular users scattered right across the globe. I expect this will rise much faster, as many users were put off by having to wait over 30 seconds for an episode to start playing. Hopefully, this will be a thing of the past.
Schola, the Latin-only social networking site, now has just on 900 members, and continues to grow at a steady rate, as users of Latinum feed into it.
I have also added a chatroom to the Latinum site. You can put a mirror of it on any site you wish, by using this code:
- Code: Select all
