I am translating The Curse of Atreus from 38 Latin stories and am having problems with two of the sentences.
Sed, o Atreu, prompter tua magna vitia filii tui magnas poenas dabunt. In animis filorum tuorum manebit tua culpa antiqua; erit perpetua.
I have translated it as:
But, O Atreus, because of your great crimes your sons will pay a great penalty. Your ancient blame will remain in the souls of your sons; it will be everlasting.
I am supposed to keep it as literal as I can.
Thanks in advance,
Michelle
