Fully Digital Forcellini now online
A follow up to http://www.textkit.com/greek-latin-foru ... =3&t=60081
Fully Digital Forcellini
Lexicon Totius Latinitatis
online
Here: http://lexica.linguax.com/forc2.php
A beta version of a fully digitized Forcellini from which you can copy-paste or search by CTRL+F.
This one took several years to release and it's still not fully finished (although quite ready to use)...
If you wish to motivate me continue in this kind of work and finish this project in my spare time, there is how to do that on the web.
I hope it's going to be useful! It's unique on the internet

Marvellous tool!
However, just thought I'd mention a funny thing that happened when this idiot typed in "opera" (inside quotation marks). It said it was searching for the Lat. word 'quotoperaquot' and listed 25 lemmas from 'quot' to 'quotannis'.
Don't ask me why I used quotation marks (I had a reason but it certainly wasn't to test the program).

Looks like the programme took the string " from the web browser, stripped it of the non alphanumeric characters, and fed it straight to the query function.Interaxus wrote:However, just thought I'd mention a funny thing that happened when this idiot typed in "opera" (inside quotation

Yes, I too suspected something of the kind. It's a trivial detail anyway.
What's especially nice about the fully digital Forcellini version is being able to use the browser's CTRL+F to home in on the particular usage example you're looking for.

I'm glad if you find it useful, guys I wanted to see this one up ever since I adapted the PDFs...
Also, thank you, Interaxus, for making me aware of the problem, I think I took care of it...

And yes, I always loved to do CTRL+F whenever I was using the L&S which was the only solid dictionary in the digital form accesssible to me.

Re: Fully Digital Forcellini now online
I have stumbled upon your Digital Forcellini, and I hardly know what to say! For latin learners like me, who have to depend entirely upon a screen-reader and a Braille display, this is a Godsend! Bless you for the monumental achievement.
I should love to make an electronic braille copy of the Lexicon for the use of the blind, and so should be truly grateful to know how I may obtain the digitized dictionary in plain text, or what OCR you would recommend for me to convert the Documenta Catholica Omnia PDF copy into txt.
Once again, bless you for the monumental achievement!
