I've got this question but even googling I haven't found answers. So how many hours per day do you spend studying latin?
Have a good day!

I normally spend about half an hour to an hour, including time travelling to and from work.Eltonvgl wrote:I've got this question but even googling I haven't found answers. So how many hours per day do you spend studying latin?

Re: How many hours per day do you spend studying latin?
My daily study times varies quite a bit because I'm not very disciplined
I usually listen to Latin lectures or podcasts while going to university and back, which amounts to some 20-30 minutes a day, and sometimes I do the same while doing stuff around the house, such as washing dishes. I think listening is a great way of increasing your study time, you can use time that is normally "wasted". I also try to read at least a little bit every day, although the amount varies greatly.
I don't know if you asked this question simply because you're interested in others' study habits or because you are looking for advice. If the latter is the case: In general, I would say the amount of time you should spend with the language really depends on your goals and how many months or years you've got to reach them. Of course you'll learn more quickly if you spend two hours every day rather than 30 minutes, but even those 30 minutes will lead to progress eventually.

Re: How many hours per day do you spend studying latin?
Great! I asked because I'm just interested in habits of others. I don't know but this information may be useful for others: I study 2 hours a day, seven days per week. I'm a newbie. I'm studying in this way for exactly 3 months. My results so far are: I'm much better in grammar in my native language (Portuguese)because I study compared grammar. I do syntax analysis of every phrase I find.
In a overall way I'd say that at the moment my Latin is still very weak and my Portuguese is becoming stronger. When my Portuguese become more strong I think my Latin studies will be more productive and I'll be able to focus more in Latin than in Portuguese. I hope it helps if there is out there some people looking for a kind of advice.
