Ita maximo terrore perculsi Fidenates, prius paene quam Romulus equitesque qui cum eo erant circumagerent equos, terga verterunt atque oppidum repetebant.

= Romanos timuerunt Fidenates atque Romulus cum equites paene equos eorum circumagerent, ii ad oppidum suum cucurrerunt?

I think you've got this right but, without otherwise commenting on your paraphrase, equos eorum should be equos suos.
