Thoreau's Latin Letters

Post by reptilia5 »

I've been meaning to share this link for quite sometime but I am always getting sidetracked by one thing or another. Archive.org has a very good book available to those of us who admire the works of Henry David Thoreau. The book is titled "Familiar Letters of Henry David Thoreau". In the book,on pages 30-33, are two letters written by Thoreau in Latin;one to his sister Helen, and one to his sister Sophia. These letters are quite interesting and I find them very useful in blending Latin with Classic Literature.I have posted the link below.

Gratias tibi ago, reptilia5. In istas epistulas inquisivi.
Thanks, reptilia5. I looked up the letters.
I'm writing in Latin hoping for correction, and not because I'm confident in how I express myself. Latinè scribo ut ab omnibus corrigar, non quod confidenter me exprimam.
