Postby pmda » Sun Mar 17, 2013 10:00 am

In LLPSI Cap XXXIX Orberg scribit:

Quid toties filium falsis eludis imaginibus?

Nonne 'Quid' : nominative sing neuter interrogative pronoun: quis/qui, quis/quae, quid i.e. impers'

Who would would deceive a son so often with false images...?

but then I see eludis is 2nd pers present indicative sing...

I'm a bit confused....

Quid can be used as a very generic interrogative pronoun: not only "what", but also "how" and, in this case, "why".
