It would be helpful when using Perseus to know what some of the abbreviations mean. If there is a list of them on the site I have been unable to find it. Here are some examples of abbreviations that bug me:
The "v" and the "a" in,
ăgo , ēgi, actum, 3, v. a.
and
porto , ?vi, ?tum, v. freq. a.
Also, I often see:
Lit. (literal?)
Transf. (acquired non-literal meaning?)
Prop. (?)
Trop. (?)
Meton. (?)
Absol. (?)
Act.
Neutr.
I get the idea that these last two refer to transitive and intransitive verbs.
Does anybody here know anything about dictionaries?
