Salvete, Omnes

I am new to latin I am anxious to learn. I belong to Nova Roma and when I asked there they suggested I join Textkit. So I am here and ready to learn.
I must tell you now I do not know any latin so any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Salve, Moderator

Well what is the best and quickest and easiest text to use to start learning latin. I realize that it will take time and a lot of work but I would like to cut to the chase and start learning. As I mentioned in my previous post I know no latin I have a latin - english dictionary and a book about latin for even more occasions. So I need all the assistance I can get.

Thank you

Salue Luci S. Prime,

I would recommend the “Latin for beginners? by Benjamin L. D’Ooge that you can download here:

http://www.textkit.com/learn/ID/108/author_id/13/

If you don’t like this book you have more choices here:

http://www.textkit.com/latin_grammar.php

Not all are for beginners, but a few are.

The second recommendation I make is to study a little everyday.

Hope this helps,

Andrus
