Is it supposed to sound like Spanish. The best study of the pronunciation of classical Latin is a book called Vox Latina by W. Sidney Allen. <br /><br />Yes, Latin does sound somewhat like Spanish and Italian, particularly in the quality of vowels which are identical. There are differences in some of the consonants.
