Need a little help...

Post by Philomela »

Hi everyone! :D

Im translating a letter by Pliny called A Roman Suicide, and i came across a bit that i have been having difficulty with:
Dixerat sane medico admoventi cibum: Kekrika
i got it as something like "When, indeed, the doctor brought up food he said:______"
i cant figure out what this greek word would mean, i wasnt sure if this belongs in the latin forum...

Thanks!

kekrika[face=Arial][/face] is indeed a Greek word. It is the fisrts person singular of the perfect tense of krinw[face=Arial][/face] , meaning 'I have judged'.

Okay, thank you :)

maybe i'll just translate it as something like " i have decided", that seems to make sense!

thank you again for the help!
