'Nūllī sē' dīcit mulier mea 'nubere malle
['I (myself?)' says my woman 'prefer to marry no one'. ]
quam mihi, nōn sī sē Iuppiter ipse petat!"
more than me, not even if Jupiter himself asks her]
Dicit. Sed mulier cupidō quod dīcit amantī
[She says. But what a woman says (to an eager lover) by lovingdesire]
in ventō et rapidā scrībere oportet aquā!
[should be written in the wind and fast flowing river]
Are 'cupido...amanti' dative, - to her eager lover?
