What does this mean?

O, non aderat!

The prevoius sentence in my reading was asking for where someone was.

That means "Oh, he/she was not here/there/present." Aderat comes from adsum, adesse and has the same forms, including the irregular imperfect past.
flebile nescio quid queritur lyra, flebile lingua murmurat exanimis, respondent flebile ripae
