Salvete amici et amicae!
What is the best way to use "instead of" in Latin, loco or pro?
Example:
Lege hunc librum loco illum.
Lege hunc librum pro illo.
Are both equally acceptable?
Gratias vobis ago et valete!

Re: "Instead of"
"loco illius" et "pro illo" eandem vim habent, ut credo // same difference, I believe.
I'm writing in Latin hoping for correction, and not because I'm confident in how I express myself. Latinè scribo ut ab omnibus corrigar, non quod confidenter me exprimam.
