Legw - absol.?

Can "legw" be used absolutely? In Woodhouse, under e.g. "speak" (which can be used intransitively in English), it says "v.tr.and absol. 'legw... etc.'", yet I'm not sure the LSJ entry supports this.

What about something like δεινὸς λέγειν "clever at speaking"? On the surface that looks like it's being used absolutely.
