As the heavenly host disappeared, the shepherds waited not an instant.
Cælesti militia evolante, pastores ne paulisper quidem manserunt.
Τῆς οὐρανίου στρατιᾶς ἐκπετομένης, οἱ ποιμένες οὐδὲ ὀλίγον χρόνον περιέμειναν.
And the shepherds found all things as the angel told them. Mary and Joseph and the infant lying in the manger, and seeing they understood and return to their flocks, glorifying and praising God. But Mary kept in mind all these things pondering them in her heart.
Et pastores invenerunt omnia sicut angelus dixit ad illos: Mariam, et Joseph, et infantem positum in præsepio, videntes autem cognoverunt et reversi sunt ad gregem suum glorificantes et laudantes Deum. Maria autem conservabat omnia hæc, conferens in corde suo.
Καὶ οἱ ποιμένες ἀνεῦραν πάντα καθὼς ὁ ἄγγελος ἐλάλησε πρὸς αὐτούς· τήν τε Μαριὰμ καὶ τὸν Ἰωσὴφ καὶ τὸ βρέφος κείμενον ἐν τῇ φάτνῃ, ἰδόντες δὲ ἐγνώρισαν καὶ ὑπέστρεψαν εἰς τὴν ποίμνην αὐτῶν, δοξάζοντες καὶ αἰνοῦντες τὸν Θεόν. Ἡ δὲ Μαριὰμ συνετήρει πάντα ταῦτα συμβάλλουσα ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτῆς.
