Ex. 1 from First Greek Writer (video)

Postby jeidsath » Sun Mar 02, 2014 10:32 pm

Pg. 68 here: http://www.textkit.com/learn/ID/167/author_id/66/
Answer key: http://www.textkit.com/learn/ID/168/author_id/66/

My "composition:" http://youtu.be/ApnRljiVgys

This is *not* extemporaneous -- I prepared first, and used answer key. But for this video, I do not have the key in front of me, and am working from the English, translating as I go.

Responses (video responses?) much appreciated. Even if you are only up to correcting me by reading (or copying) straight from the answer key, I would love that!

Comments on accents, pronunciation, etc., also appreciated.

I like the video very much because it is so comprehensible. The fact that you are slowly translating as you go from the English makes it much easier to understand than if you had just read the finished product. The use of visuals also helps in comprehension. I understood 100% of it after a few views. Very helpful to have such comprehensible input in Ancient Greek. I like your videos of the Anabasis as well.

I just posted a quick one:

I look forward to more of your videos.
I am writing in Ancient Greek not because I know Greek well, but because I hope that it will improve my fluency in reading. I got the idea for this from Adrianus over on the Latin forum here at Textkit.

I understood 100% of what you said after watching both videos one or two times. thanks.

I've frankly never understood evaluating spoken Ancient Greek on any other basis THAN comprehensibility.
