I have had Mounce's book and CD now for a couple of weeks. It is really good. The CD has been very handy. One thing I have noticed is that pronouncing Greek words do vary with different teachers. I have just tried to go with what Mounce has on his CD which means I have to change some things.

Mounce makes it very simple to understand. I love the way everything is set up. And I must admit that this set up with all the nouns before the verbs really works out for me better. I am not getting them confused like I was with other platforms. Fact is I think I was getting some of the principles mixed up with the other set ups.

Thanks to all on here for leading me to Mounce's course!!!

Congratulations on the start. Getting started is probably the most dificult thing in language. You'll probably find that consistency is the key with pronunciation. The CD's published by Zondervan (Jonathon Penington) are pretty good if you're going with Mounce's system, although there are differences between the two. Penington has a better sound and is smoother. However, they're basically the same.

I agree that Mounce's simple explanations are the best, but I still like to look at other beginning books for the alternative explanation. Mounce has the good idea of explaining things from a reader's perspective instead of in composition. This is good for "getting it", but reinforced with the "older" approach it is better than either alone. I suggest Samuel Green (Availible on Textkit) as a great companion, (Nunn is good too).
