dieresis

Post by cdm2003 »

Hello...and apologies in advance if I've messed up the font representation.

I just came across a dieresis over an iota in the text (specifically, in Ἀτ?εΐδης). I can't find an explanation for it being there but I'm assuming that it means that the ει is not a diphthong in this context?

I wanted to be sure,
Many thanks,
Chris
