We need a count!

Please also add a "yes, me" post, not just a click on the poll, please, so we have some idea who's joining.

I will post to this thread when we have the mailing list ready for people to join.

The first week is devoted to introductions and explanations.

We will be using Paul's GTSS system to enter our translations. Though no one will be correcting the work, it does make it really easy for us to compare our translations to each other. The email list (which I hope to have ready soon) will be for discussion.

If you think a fellow who hasn't studied Greek in 25 years but can still distinguish the imperfect from the aorist could qualify, then I'd like to join the Pharr group.

Could people who'll be in the list PM Paul with their email address and a name they want for GTSS? We'll be using his web based system for posting our translations — it's very easy to compare our work that way.

I'm sorry, but I still don't have the email list for discussions read yet. I'll post subscription instructions for that as soon as I do.

First GTSS lesson

I "published" my entries for the first Iliad 2 lesson. I am hoping I used GTSS correctly and that my entries have been received. This is the first time I have used this system, and so I am still a little unsure of how it works. It takes me a few trials to translate reading instructions to executing them.

Sorry about the delay in this.

The mailing list port of the group is now ready for subscriptions.

Note that you need to register for the mailing list and GTSS. They're separate systems, with GTSS for us to post and compare translation, and the mailing list for discussion.

Hi,

I can see your post in GTSS. Looks fine.

Cordially,

Given the delay in the mailing list, I've updated the session page with a week slip in the schedule. I'd like to give everyone a chance to get into the group and for us to get settled about the routine without rush.

It's not, but don't dally. :)

Visit the session page mentioned earlier and join the mailing list linked to from there.
