I can't figure out what αὐτοῦ means in [size=150]τὸν δ’ ἔλιπ’ αὐτοῦ[/size]
First I thought it was genitive because of the verb, took leave of him, but then to/n is left out so I decided against that.
Anyone?

Several of the demonstratives take an =οῦ suffix which makes them (like ποῦ) refer to place.
