Hi,

The BDAG is a marvelous dictionary. But if you're going to do Homer (bravo!), I would urge you to get Cunliffe's lexicon.

Cordially,

Paul

This sounds like an avant-garde mandolin tuning. I cannot for the life of me figure out the B and the D this morning.

That leaves an A and a G.
You probably think that they stand for Ancient Greek.
WRONG. (I loved doing that. Likely the only chance I'll get at correcting you. :) )
It stands for Bauer, Danker, Arndt and Gingrich.
It is THE lexicon for Biblical Greek.
Timotheus wrote BAGD. It is the second edition, BDAG is the third edition.

Ah. Probably not a good tool for reading Homer, then.

I don't think Cunliffe is available online. You can preview it at Amazon, if you want---but you won't be disappointed. :) It's fantastic.
