Iliad recorded?

Post by vqp.cass »

Does anyone know of a recording of all or parts of the Iliad in the original Greek?
How wonderful it would be to listen to someone pronounce all that lovely language who really knows how.
Thanks.

I know Stephen Daitz has released a recording of at least some of the books of the Iliad (although he has a certain style of performance that is not for everyone to say the least). That and a lot of other stuff is covered in spiphany's page on Greek audio, which is what I'd recommend looking it if you haven't already.

Yes on that page you will find a link to Stanley Lombardo's recording which I have listened to many times. He reads the text with wonderful drama and emphasis. You can also find some good stuff on You-Tube.

I checked out the suggested page, which is new to me.
A goldmine.
Thank you!
