Postby Neos » Wed Dec 10, 2008 6:00 pm

The word archives came from the Latin archivum, which is a transliteration of the Greek archion (archive, record office; αρχείον)

In Greek
a) archio: archives, file, record [αρχείο]

archion (αρχείον) --> archivum --> archif --> archives
