theorein accent question

θεω?εῑν has for imperative θεω?ει but where does the accent go and what kind is it? I would appreciate any explanation as well. Thanks.

For contract verbs, find the accent before contraction.

So, for θεω?έω, it's θεώ?εε > θεώ?ει.

See Smyth §171-172 for all the details when the contraction involves one of the accented vowels.

thanks for the speedy reply. I also like the quote you are sporting underneath your posts. It reminds me how my mom used to say a translation is an entirely new work. Both statements seem to express the fact that translation is inherently interpretation although they take it in slightly different directions
