Iliad audio

Post by ancientweird »

Is there any audio version of Homer's work, that is either on sale or free online?
I am not studying the language formally yet, but I would like to get used to listening to it and perhaps start memorizing whatever audio I can find.
I am still unsure of whether or not to start with Latin or Greek first...

*is currently studying Japanese*

You can try go to the site http://wiredforbooks.org/iliad/ where Stanley Lombardo reads Homer's The Iliad, Book I. You can listen to short extracts or to a quite long one.
It is very instructive to follow the greek text in written form at the same time.
