Post by mingshey »

Some (say) the army of cavalries, others (say) (the army) of the infantry
(still) others say (that) of the young, upon the black earth
to be the most beautiful: but I (say) that (army) of whichever he(or she whom the poetess loves?) should love, (to be the most beautiful).

This is what I can make out of this poem quoted in the lesson 9 of "Ancient Greek Alive". But I cannot be sure for there seems to be so many abridgements.
