Electra l. 195 translation help

Postby Tom Henry » Sun Jan 19, 2014 9:54 am

If anyone is able to explain these lines to me, I would be most grateful:

οτε οἱ παγχαλκων ανταια / γενυων ωρμαθη πλαγα

I understand that the sense is: when the blow was aimed against (him). What I am confused about is the οἱ. It can't agree with πλαγα, which I assume is the subject of ωρμαθη. How then does it fit?

Thanks.
