My first Greek lesson! Could someone help?

Post by grassfell »

I'm not good at learning Grammar tables, so I'm trying to learn via the natural method, like Hans Orberg's Lingua Latina Per Se Illustrata. As there's no Greek equivalent for English speakers, I've adopted Orberg's first page into English and was hoping someone could help translate into Greek for me. Even without knowing any Greek I should be able to understand, and this will be my first lesson. I'm interested in Greek so I can better understand the origin of words used in English, and because I like Greek drama.

"Greece is in Europe. Italy is in Europe. Germany is in Europe. Russia is in Europe and Russia is in Asia. Also, Turkey is in Europe and Turkey is in Asia.
Egypt is in Africa. Syria is in Asia.
Egypt is not in Europe. Syria is not in Europe. Greece is not in Africa. Italy is not in Asia. Russia is in Europe and Asia but is not in Africa. Greece is in Europe but is not in Africa. Syria is in Asia but is not in Europe.
Crete is an island in Greece. Siciliy is an island in Italy. Corsica is an island in France.
Crete is a small island. Sicily is a big island. Corsica is also a big island"
Is Germany an Island? No, Germany is not an island. Is Egypt an island? No, Egypt is not an island. Is Athens an island? No, athens is a city. Is Berlin an island? No, Berlin is a city."
