Learning Greek and Latin through Euclid's Elements

Using Arabic and English translations, how sensible would it be to try to learn Greek and Latin using Euclid's Elements, or more pertinently could such an endeavour provide a solid foundation from which to build upon?

(Aside from the technical and terminological difficulties of the Elements, I'm guessing the syntax is fairly easy and the range of verbal forms/tense etc. small, i.e. as a text it is relatively gramatically unchallenging, I'm also presuming it is written in the Attic dialect?)

euclid is not in attic, it's in koine. if you want to know how hard it will be to transition from koine to other dialects, see this article by will annis: http://www.aoidoi.org/articles/dialects.html

but that's all for later. right now if euclid inspires you to start learning grk, i.e. if euclid is the author who will help you break through the inertia point between wanting to learn the language and actually doing it, i suggest that you start with euclid now rather than waiting for the ideal time in the future to start with another dialect.
