Hi, can anyone help me with the following two sentences. I'm pretty sure I have all the words correctly translated, but just not sure how to put them together! Thanks...

Re: Difficulty tranlating two sentences
I think the first one should read:
For the story is not about any common matter*, but about in whichever manner one must live.
* LSJ ἐπιτυγχάνω Ι. 4.
The second is a future wish:
O my child, may you be more fortunate than your father.

Re: Difficulty tranlating two sentences
A few tips:
An indefinite relative clause subordinate to the infinitive comes between it and the article: ...ὅντινα τρόπον χρὴ... "...in whatever manner [one] must..." (ὅντινα τρόπον seems to be accusative of respect, and ἐστί is implied, as per usual, with χρὴ)
The second clause has an articular infinitive, which is object of the preposition περὶ: περὶ τοῦ ...

πατρὸς is genitive of comparison.Ὦ παῖ, γένοιο πατρὸς εὐτυχέστερος.
