Hi Today I worked on lesson 10!


We shall come to your land with your friend.
12. Cum amico vestro terram nostram veniemus.
While he lives, we can have no peace.
13. Dum vivit, pacem habere non possumus.
The whole state now shuns and will always shin these vices.
14. Civitas tota haec vitia nunc fugit et semper fugiet.
He will thank the whole people.
15. Populo toti gratias aget.

My Latin is very rusty with the lack of use but I think you did a mistake:

We shall come to your land with your friend.
12. Cum amico vestro terram nostram veniemus.

Here as it is “your landâ€￾ it should be “terram vestramâ€￾. I also think it should have a proposition “inâ€￾ or “adâ€￾ as “Cum amico vestro in terram vestram veniemusâ€￾.

All other phrases look fine to me.

Along with Andrus' comment, here's two more:

While he lives, we can have no peace.
13. Dum vivit, pacem habere non possumus.

Here, you say "...we can not have peace." You've left out the slightly more complicated structure, "can have no..." I'd say ullam pacem habere non possumus. ("cannot have any peace = can have no peace.")

The whole state now shuns and will always shin these vices.
14. Civitas tota haec vitia nunc fugit et semper fugiet.

Fugio makes sense here, but I might say vitat...vitabit. Perhaps this is merely a stylistic point. (The text may not have even introduced vito yet.) Anyway, vito (avoid) carries a connotation of mental or moral avoiding, while fugio (flee) is usually physical or situational.
