hi, im a new member and i've been learning latin through rosetta stone, and then some1 at yahoo answer gave me this link... very nice.

im a beginner with latina lingua, and i just wanna know the meaning of est.

Hello friend!

I am also just starting latin after doing a fair bit of greek for a time... the word 'est' for an english speaker is basically translted as: "he/she/it is"

Italia in Europa est.

Italy in Europe (it) is. = ie. Italy is in Europe.

I knew that the Rosetta Stone method had some caveats!
