Q. about Lesson XXX ex. 182

Post by LisaNYork »

#182

The men kept hurling their weapons down from the high place with great eagerness.

I rendered it:
Viri tela de loco alto studio magni iaciebant.

The key renders it:
Viri magno studio tela de loco alto iaciebant.

What have I done wrong?

Thanks

The only mistake you made is forgetting to put magno in the ablative to agree with studio. There is also a preference to put adjectives indicating size or quantity before the noun, rather than after (as for most other adjectives)

Otherwise, the key just has a different word order; there's nothing "incorrect" in the order you gave instead.

Thank you, Seneca.

Yikes! I did put it in the ablative (magno), I made a typo when I posted.

My brain is frying right now. I've been doing about 2 hours of Latin a day for the last several weeks. :?
