The original text:"Ii pueri cum Cornelia in oppido Roma, claro Italiae oppido,habitabant..."
the translation given :"These boys lived with Cornelia in the town of Rome,THE MOST FAMOUS TOWN of Italy"
I am wondering where the superlative form has come in,but according to me the superlative for "clarus,-a,-um"would be "clarissimus,-a,-um",assuming I am correct.
What do you think, O CARI AMICI?

Saluē Runice,
To the best of my knowledge you are right, it shouldn’t be “the most famous town of Italia?. When I did that exercise I translated only to:
“the famous town of Italia?.
Don’t know if it is only a question of a more free translation or if the superlative can be taken from the original by any unknown way to me.
Valē amīce
