Help on exercise 261, of pages 116 and 117 of pdf

Saluēte omnēs,

I have just finished the exercise 261 of pages 116 and 117 of pdf. My answers are different of the answers in the key in two minor points and I would like to know who is right or if both (I and the key) can be right.

I.3- Post adventum suum Caesar iussit legiÅ￾nÄ“s ex castrÄ«s dÅ«cÄ«

The key gives:

“After his arrival, Caesar ordered the legionary soldiers to be led out of the campâ€￾

I have:

“After his arrival, Caesar ordered the legions to be led out of the campâ€￾

I know it is a minor difference and it could be both taken if a freely translation would be taken, but for the key answer to be correct shouldn’t be:

“Post adventum suum Caesar iussit mÄ«litÄ“s legiÅ￾nÄ￾riÅ￾s ex castrÄ«s dÅ«cÄ«â€￾

Here I’m not sure if mīlitīes should be in accusative (because it is the subject of the infinitive) or in the nominative because it is a subject of a verb in a passive form.

II.8- “He is a beautiful animal and has great strengthâ€￾

The key gives:

“Pulchrum est animal et vÄ«s habet magnaâ€￾

I have:

“Pulchrum est animal et vim magnam habetâ€￾

Shouldn’t strength be in accusative here?

Best regards,

Andrus
