Exercise 245 Part II

Post by Radek »

I have another problem:

5. With happy hearts they hastened to obey his words
In key there is: Laetis animis maturaverunt iis verbis parere

Why: iis - his
Why not: eius - his

Looks wrong to me, as if whoever wrote the key was trying to treat is as an adjective and make it agree with verbis (dative plural). I'd think eius. The word order looks oddly English too.

It should definitely be eius.

It is eius. The key had seen this misinterpreted for these
