TABULA DUODEVICESIMA

Looking, noticing, observing. Videre, animadvertere, observare.

Look at me. Converte ora et oculos in me (ad me).

Look what are you doing. Vide quid agas.

Be careful and don’t ruin anything. Vide ne quid imprudens ruas.

Look at your audience. Admove vultum ad auditores.

Look how he walks. Vide ut incedit.

Don’t you realize? Ecquid non animadvertis? Ἦτι οὐ καθορᾷς;

I hadn’t noticed that. Id non observaveram. Hoc me pratervolavit. Hoc non observavi.

What happens? What’s going on? Quid agitur? Τί πράττεται;

This is hazy, unclear to me. Mihi enim tenebrae sunt.

I’ll put it before your eyes. Rem subjiciam oculis vestris. Ponam vobis ad oculos. In conspectu vestro collocabo.

Bring (show) him to us. Exhibe illum nobis.

Do my father suspect anything? Numquid patri subolet? Οὐδενὸς ὁ πατὴρ ὑπαισθάνεται;

He is clearsighted, he has a sharp understanding. Oculos habet acutos.

He is looking at us out of the corner of his eye. Perversis (malis, obliquis, torvis) oculis nos intuetur.

The pupils never take their eyes off of their teacher. In vultu praeceptoris habitant discipulorum oculi.

I have never been able to detect their traps (tricks). Illorum fallacias numquam praesensi.
