ταύτης τῆς νυκτός, βαδίζων οἴκαδε, ἀνέβλεψα εἰς τοὺς οὐρανούς. τὴν δὲ σελήνην φαινομένην ἡμιπλήρη εἶδον.

τἠμερον αἱ νεφελαι εκαλυπτε τόν ἤλιον. Ου εβρεξε αλλα το βαθος τῆς τοῦ ἀέρος ὑγρασιας ησαν ἑπτηκοντα και εις κατα ἑκατον.

(γραψα σπουδῆς διοτι ου οιος τε ἦ ἀναγινωσκειν «τεκστκιτ» τρεις-τεσσερας ωραν - νομιζω νυν αυτον ειναι ἀμείνον)

ταύτης μὲν δείλης ἔβρεχεν οὐχ ἥκιστα, ὡς ἐπὶ τὸ πολύ ὥστε ἐμέ τε καὶ τὴν γυναῖκα οἴκαδε μεῖναι ὀπτῶντας καὶ ἐσθίοντας καὶ διαλεγομένας· ὀψὲ δὲ τῆς ἡμέρας συμπεριεπατήσαμεν περὶ τοῦ ἄστεως. τὰ πολλά που ἦν φαῦλον, οὔτε θαυμαστὸν οὔτε δυστυχές.

No Greek every wrote, as far as we can tell: βέβρεκε? βέβροχε? βέβρακε? βέβραχε?

No Greek every wrote, as far as we can tell: βέβρεκε? βέβροχε? βέβρακε? βέβραχε?

You may be right. I am probably over using the perfect having reached that part of the textbook only a few weeks ago but:

As far as I can tell it is a modern Greek site on Ancient Greek but this may be a modern Greek form.


βέβρεκε is the form that I'd have expected (for 2nd per perfect) but Perseus rejected it so I have assumed that βρέχω is deponent for the perfect.

τήμερον αἱ νεφεαλαι καλυπτει τόν ὁυρανόν. το βαθος το της τοῦ ἀέρου υγασιας εστι ὀγδοήκονα κατα ελκατον. τοῦ ανεμου πνέοντος, οἱ κλαδοι κινουσι.
