τήμερον οὐ ἦν πανυ θερμόν. τὸ τῆς θερμασίας βάθος ἦν εἴκοσι καὶ τρεῖς (ἡβδομήκοντα καὶ τρεῖς κατὰ τὴν τοῦ Φαρενηειτου κλίμακα). νύκτωρ πεντεκαίδεκα ἔσομαι ωστε ευ καθευδήσω.

Σημερον, ην δη ευδιαν. λαμπει ο ηλιος και ουκ η νεφελη ην εν ουρανοις. το δε της θερμασιας βαθος ην εκοση και οκτος (ου δυναμαι γραφειν εν ελληνικᾳ)

ο χρονος εστιν βλακευειν (αναγινωσκω εκ του μαρκου :D )

ἐχθὲς μέντοι θαυμάσιόν τι ἐγένετο. τί οὖν ἐγένετο? μένετε, ὦ φίλοι. ἐρῶ γὰρ ἡμῖν.

ἐχθὲς ἡ χάλαζα ἔπεσεν ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ! τὴν δὲ ἀλήθειαν λέγω. οὐδὲ ψεύδομαι. οἱ δὲ σοφοὶ ἔφησαν ὅτι ἐχθὲς εὐδία εἴη. σαφῶς μὲν εἶπον οὖν οὕτοι, σοφῶς δ' οὔ!

οἱ σοφοι ἀληθῶς φάσκοντες, νύκτωρ ἦω ψυτρότερον καί ἀμείνων ἐκαθεύδησα. τήμερον τὸ τῆς θερμασία βάθος εστι εικοσι καί ἑξ (έδδοκοντηα και ενεα κάτα τὴν τοῦ φαρενειτου κλίμακα). φοβουμαι μη αὔριον λίαν θερμότερον ᾖ.



ἥμαρτον εγραψα "ἐχθές" αντι "αὔριον"

I am writing in Ancient Greek not because I know Greek well, but because I hope that it will improve my fluency in reading. I got the idea for this from Adrianus over on the Latin forum here at Textkit.

Χαίρετε, ὦ φίλοι. Ἐν τῇ Ἀγγελωπόλει τοῦ Μεξίκου εἰμί. Ἐνταῦθα δὲ ὁ ἥλιος φαίνει καὶ αὕρα ἡδεῖα πνεῖ. Ἐπράυριον δὲ εἰς τὴν Διδακούπολιν ἐπάνειμι.

νῦν δὲ πάλιν ἐφ' ἡμᾶς ἄφίκετο τὸ καῦμα. τὸ γὰρ τῆς θερμασίας βάθος τριάκοντα καὶ τέσσαρά ἐστιν. καὶ οὐ δύναμαι ἀπεψυγμένος γίνεσθαι. τεθερμασμένος γάρ εἰμι!

ἐχθές ανεβην εις μέσον Λονδονου. εδιαίθομην και θερμασία με κατέτριψε. επνελθων ἐκείμην επλιζων ταχα ὕπνον αλλα δια τὴν του ἀήρος υγασιαν ἠγρυπνον.
