product wishlist

The question in the latin forum about calendars brought back an old idea for me... wouldn't it be great if someone were to start making latin products such as calendars, greeting cards, etc in latin and greek?

or even if someone were to pull together what is there into one site... and redistribute... hm, maybe *I* should do that.

i think there are latin fridge poetry magnets...

if *someone* were ...

Greek Texts out of Copyright that, in a Decent, Civilized So

Hello,

I'm not sure whether this is the right forum to post text suggestions in; but since I have a mental list, and am fairly confident that Jeff is reading this forum (hi Jeff!), I'll go ahead.

The list is based on two factors: what is rare (and therefore hugely expensive, usually impossible for the average independent learner to have access to), and what is helpful if not indispensible while making one's through ...

Love of Latin and Greek = Love of Roman and Greek History?

Just a thought, I know for myself the urge to be able to read Plutarch, Caesar, Pliny, Virgil and the other Latin greats in their native language is a big part of my desire to improve my Latin ASAP (preferably done through osmosis while sleeping but so far no luck). Do any of you feel the same?

I am also a Roman and Greek history fanatic and can't get enough of it whether ...

Greek Language and Linguistics

http://www.greek-language.com/

This site has sections on: the history of the language from Linear B to the present day; quick reviews and links to online grammars (including textkit ;D ;D) and reviews of print grammars for different stages of the language; lexical aids for classical and koine Greek; manuscripts and writing; plus others perhaps of more interest for the seriously academic.

Hailing all Testkit users! :)

I just wanted to introduce myself, I am a 19 year old student from Canada and am trying to re-introduce myself to the world of Latin. Thank godness I work in the biggest bookstore chain in Canada (Chapters/Indigo/Coles etc.)! Everyone here seems very friendly and willing to share their knowledge which is great since I'm sure I'll have lots of questions. I am currently working through Wheelocks 6e and of course, the omnipotent BLD!

Greek Grammar For The Beginner

Well, I am on a book rampage. I have a whole year ahead of me and judging by the progress I have already made in Latin I am sure that I will be able to substitute the hours of T.V. each day for something productive!
I want to learn a form of Greek; but, to be honest, I have no clue. I need help!
Ancient Greek
Koine Greek
Modern Greek (I want to go ...

Question (That is all I do!)

It seems that many of you speak French. So my question is: how did you arrive to the ability to speak French? 8)

Pensees

Does anyone know where I can find a good copy (preferably a free ebook online :P) of Pensees, by Blaise Pascal, in French or Latin? I've read him through in English, but I would like to read him again in French, and in Latin, once I'm advanced enough, if he was ever translated into Latin.

Keesa
