P.Egerton 2

Found S. E. Porter in my local library yesterday. The probability of this happening is very low. But they also have a book by Michael Bird so it isn't impossible. Porter is currently dabbling in papyrology. He launches into a very dense argument for an early date for John's Gospel based in part on allusions to John in P.Egerton 2, a document that has been known since the 1930s. Porter's argument isn't overwhelmingly persuasive but ...

I'm digitizing the Apophthegmata Patrum

I am currently digitizing the Apophthegmata Patrum (Gerontikon) in Greek. I wanted to let everyone know in case someone happens to be doing the same. When I am done, I hope to set up a blog dedicated to the study of this composition.
I hope to have this digitized in a few months. I am using the Git Hub OCR repository for the Patrologia Graeca which is making things less tedious (Tome 65). Also a ...

Victor of Antioch's "Mark Commentary" : where is the greek?

Matt.

Who was rebuked in Matt. 17:18?

No previous mention has been made of a demon when Matthew tells us Jesus rebuked him. The most accessible antecedent is the boy. The language used by the father σεληνιάζεται ... θεραπεῦσαι is ambiguous. σεληνιάζεται may suggest some sort of demonic agency but θεραπεῦσαι does not suggest exorcism. So the question is why should we assume ...

Seeking NT in modern Greek pronunciation

I seem to remember a thread—probably on this board but maybe on Learning Greek or some other—in which someone provided a link to a very attractive reading of the NT by a Greek. Can anyone refer me to it? I want to see how well I follow without looking at the text.
Thanks in advance,

Theodotian Old Testament

I was wondering how much of Theodotian is still extant. Do we only have the book of Daniel? If there is more, where could I find this material. Also, how much of the other translations are still available and who are the authors of these other translations?

Mark 14:46-52
