new Biblical Greek learning tool

I have developed an interactive, web-based Greek learning tool for learning paradigms and vocabulary in which the student reads stories which can be manipulated into dozens of variations. My goal is to make the learning of Greek morphology easier without having to rely on the rote memorization of paradigms. So far I have stories which focus on 2nd declension masculine nouns but also includes some other vocabulary due to the nature of the manipulation of ...

Luke 22:44 bloody sweat

Hi

This text is from Luke 22:44:

kai genomenoj en agwnia ektenesteron proshuxeto: kai egeneto o idrwj autou wsei qromboi aimatos katabainontes epi thn ghn

Depending on the grammar can we conclude whether the sweat really was bloody or that this is only an illustration? It seems to me that the problem is how to interpret the word wsei "as it were"

Greetings all,

I am looking for a resource that covers synonyms of the Greek NT and LXX. I am aware of R.C. Trench’s book; but are there other more modern works available? Or is that the only one?

Thanks in advance.

Septuagint a "bad translation" of the Hebrew text?

Has anyone on the board discovered as I did that the Septuagint is NOT just a bad translation of the Hebrew as has been taught for two thousand years?

Or has my exposure to teachers just been proven to have been limited?

I have done a study of ...

Chapter and Verse

You Biblicals know how to have a good time!

I've heard the expression "chapter and verse" referred to the Bible, and yet the only poetry I remember in it are the Psalms (in Hebrew, I assume).

Did the Evangelists write their Greek in verse originally, or does the expression come from later translations into English in verse?
