Reading Group -- London

Hello everyone.

I have been learning Greek for about a year, and I would very much like to meet other learners, particularly to form a reading group. I suspect speaking classical Greek aloud would much help myself and many others; to that end, if there is anyone in London (UK), who would like to form a reading group for ancient greek (all levels), I guess here is the place to post!!

Sidgwick's Introduction to Greek Prose Composition II

II. — Titus

Sidgwick's Introduction to Greek Prose Composition I

I. οἱ Βορμέανοι

New FGB Key

I'm putting together my own answers to FGB. You can find them here:

http://www.thehebrewcafe.com/greek/fgb

If you can find mistakes, let me know. I'd be happy to have this be a collaborative answer key. But, I'd rather it go at my own pace. I'm working through the book myself at this point.

Hope it looks nice. :)

Adjective Distribution

I know that this forum hasn't been written on for a long, but I thought I would try to bring it back to life by asking a question about the textbook.

§64.6. πέλτας ἔχομεν καὶ μαχαίρας ἀγαθάς.
§132.1. ὄνοι ἄγριοι καὶ ἵπποι ἐν τῷ πεδίῳ ἦσαν.

In both of these examples, we have a single adjective and two nouns. My question is how we can determine whether the adjectives are distributed to both nouns or ...

Distinguishing gender in A-Declension

Hi,
I am stuck in the A-Declension for feminine nouns. Any help would be appreciated! I felt like I was on roll in the A-Declension for feminine nouns! But then I got to this point:
"The gender of a noun is indicated by placing it after the corresponding form of the definite article, as αγορα, ας, η, where η signifies that αγορα is feminine."
This has been confusing me, and there's no further explanation or ...
