Distinguishing gender in A-Declension

Hi,
I am stuck in the A-Declension for feminine nouns. Any help would be appreciated! I felt like I was on roll in the A-Declension for feminine nouns! But then I got to this point:
"The gender of a noun is indicated by placing it after the corresponding form of the definite article, as αγορα, ας, η, where η signifies that αγορα is feminine."
This has been confusing me, and there's no further explanation or ...

Download TEXT copy John Williams White's First Greek Book

You can Download a TEXT copy John Williams White's First Greek Book on my site. Go to google and do a search for "tachufind". I don't think I have enough posts yet to post the link. The benefits of a text
copy is that you can search it! I also have a completely FREE program that I wrote explicitly for this
book, that allows you to search out grammar (word prefixes and suffixes) and color ...

JWW Answer Key Supplement

I've decided to make up questions to the statements given as answers in the JWW Answer Key as presented on the following web page:
http://www.ellopos.net/elpenor/study/de ... swer%20Key

I have also translated the questions into English and placed the translation at the end of the questions.

Since I am learning Greek, I would appreciate it if someone more expert than I could take a look at my effort and make ...

Lesson XV - Primary Tenses Question

I cannot figure out what the primary tenses are for. Are they similar to reflexive verbs in spanish, where the suffix describes the person to whom the action is taken? If so, then "lelukasi" would mean "I have broken them"?

Is this correct, or am I way off?

θύω -- past perfect

Hi,

I'm not sure if θύω carries an augment in the past perfect ...I'm guessing it does but I wondered if someone could confirm that.

In otherwords: Is it ἐτεθύκη or no augment so just τεθύκη ??

Thanks,
French

κραυγή - κλαγγή

Is there a difference between these two words? The Homeric textbook used κλαγγή but FGB is starting us out with κραυγή for apparently the same meaning. Is it basically the same?

ἐν τῇ χώρᾳ = ἐν τοῖς ἀγροῖς ?

In the beginning of Athenaze we are told that Dikaiopolis lives ἐν τοῖς ἀγροῖς (cf. the very first reading: οἰκεῖ δὲ ὁ Δικαιόπολις... ἐν τοῖς ἀγροῖς ). The gloss reads "in the country (lit., in the fields)."

We find in §41 of FGB that ἐν τῇ χώρᾳ οἰκίαι ἦσαν (exercise #8).

My question is whether or not there is a difference in meaning between these two expressions, or are they synonymous to the point ...
