autos tetartos elthen

On page 257 of Thraymachus the sentence, "au)to\j te/tartoj h]lqen." is translated as, "he came with three others".

Shouldn't that sentence mean, "he came fourth"?

I wonder, is there a rule that tells when to use krasis, when to elide the final vowel, and when to leave hiatus? (I mean in prose, in verse it is dictated by the metrum)

Greek Handwriting

Hello

I try slowly but with success to learn ancient greek.

By writing the greek letters, I asked myself if there is any
difference between greek letters typed and handwritten.

And any idea about connectin the single letter like in latin letters.

any suggestions are welcome.
